In loving memory of Mr. Curtis “Pop” Collins
Curtis Collins grew up in a large, loving family with 3 sisters and 3 brothers (and lots of mischief). After graduating East Hall High School, Curtis pursued a career in accounting at Young Harris College. His time away solidified one thing, his life was meant to be shared with high school sweetheart, Patricia Ann Reidling. Curtis & Pat were married on July 3, 1969. They lived in Gainesville, GA where they raised their son, Curtis Stacy Collins, and daughter, Kristy Dannell Collins Slaton. Curtis lived and worked in Hall County, Georgia, for almost all of his life. After graduating from East Hall High School in 1967, he earned his Associate of Science in Business Administration Degree at Young Harris College. From there, Curtis attended the University of Georgia and graduated with his Bachelor’s of Business Administration degree in 1971. Curtis returned to Georgia State University and earned his Master’s of Business Administration degree in 1977. He began his career in public accounting in 1978. Curtis became a certified public accountant in 1981 and established Collins and Associates Incorporated in 1982. Curtis continued educational pursuits by becoming a Certified Asset Protection Planner, a Certified Wealth Planning Professional, and a Certified Medicaid Planning Professional. He became a member of the American Institute of CPA Personal Financial Specialist in 2004, and became president of Kendrick Financial Services Incorporated in 2007. Curtis also spent time as an instructor at Brenau University where he taught accounting and auditing principles. ASA Accounting & Tax Services and Collins Wealth Management & Tax Strategies was founded in Oakwood, GA in 2008. Curtis received great joy out of helping his clients in a multitude of ways. His two children chose to follow his career path and continue his legacy through ASA Accounting & Tax Services and Collins Wealth Management & Tax Strategies. Together, they serve the greater north Georgia area.
